8th January - day one of shooting:
We had emailed Rob Scott in advance to rent out our equipment, we used a camera, tripod and lights with a dimmer switch.
Before filming we had to carefully clear a space ready to film as the room was full of props and costumes. Megan and I set up a light each and Hope was in charge of setting up the camera's tripod and getting it level before we all helped put the camera on the tripod. We used the shooting script to decide which scenes we were going to film, and as it was the first day of shooting we decided to try and get all the scenes done that needed our actors. I was in charge of the camera, with help from Hope to make sure we all agreed with the framing of the shots.
I was in charge of filming for most of this day, Megan was mostly acting but helping to make final decisions and Hope was directing and referring back to all our paperwork making sure our final product was as near to our plans as possible.
After looking back at our footage at the end of the week we discovered that our footage was noticeably wonky, so we decided this shoot was a "practice shoot" and we planned to film again at a later date.
